SUMMARY : A unacceptable event took place in Atlanta, Georgia. A Pakistani daughter, Sandeela Kanwal, was killed by her father, Chaudhry Rashid, because she wanted out of an arranged marriage. Therefore, her mother called police, and her father is accused. The frightful thing is her father thinks that he has done nothing wrong, so he doesn't have a guilty conscience.

Sandeela Kanwal, the dead daughter, got married in Pakistan in an arranged marriage recently. She has a husband who lives in Chicago, Illinois. However, she didn't want to accept arranged marriage, so she stayed her house with her family in Atlanta. Therefore, the daughter and her father had a problem that they had not spoken in two months. In the end, her father killed her daughter.

There is a word "Honor killings". It can be presented by this event. The United Nations Population Fund estimated in September 2000 that as many as 5,000 women and girls fall victim to such killings each year.

According to the expert, she said that "It's not just a U.S. issue. I think it happens across the world, and I think people need to recognize domestic violence and any kind of violence related to women as a serious, serious issue".

MY OPINION : I learned about this kind of topic from last quarter. That subject was finding a spouse. There's no doubt about marriage is significant point in our lives, and all societies have their own cultures of marriage. As you know, we all have different idea and culture. Because of this difference, we are placed in an difficult situation. After reading this article, I was lost in thought. What way is the best choice in this situation? Why did her father kill his daughter? I think her father should have respected daughter's opinion. I think we are individuals prior to someone's daughter and son, so we have to know one's precious life. This kind of problem still remains in the world. I hope that you have a time to think about this topic, and you can get some important views of your life. Thank you.

This event means that somebody in the earth is still crazy.
Probably this kind of person was frequent 50 or more years ago, but not anymore.
We need to do something for solve this kind of problem, like talk with this stupid kind of person who thinks that the honour is more important than the life and try to change a little bit their mind.
This is my opinion!

I'm so sad after I checked there have thousand case continous happened a year in some undeveloped country nowsday. In fact, UF still need to work hard give input to those countries that they don't recongize domestic violence as crime . It's too bad they don't have the concept of women's right. I feet I'm too lucky that I was not borned in Pakistan.

I felt too sad and I also cannot understand why the father had to kill her daughter. I think that everyone has freedom of marriage whixch means everyone can get marry with the person who they love eachother or they want. In my opinion, it's the basic right for every people.

There is a unbelievable truth in this NEWS. A father killed his daughter, but he didn't feel guilt. I think parents they have obligation to breed their children, In addition, they can't decide their children life, I think everyone has no authority to interfere others people life even parents. Sometimes we can change our position each other, maybe we can find the answer, and avoid this miserable happening again.

I cannot image that someone killed by her father, also she didn't have freedom. I feel so sorry about that she couldnot marriage to person who is her lover. However, today there are same happen in third countries. I cannot believe that and I hope there will not same happen anymore.

I can’t understand the purpose that the father killed his daughter because I think he couldn’t get the any benefit from his crime. I know each country have each culture, but we should prioritize human right before obey the culture.

What is considered "morally wrong"? Who sets the standards? Is it you or the society? In America, we have democracy - not so true with other countries around the world. I think that the father should consider adopting that idea.

This incident shows us existence of different value. That is,some people think all people are free, others think people like their kids, partner belong to themselves.I think it's up to individuals to choose to everything, after coming of age.

I really hate domestic violence and the man who beat woman. Definetely woman is more weak than man. Why some man beat woman? We should respect each other. The man is so stupid. I want to talk with the man.
