Free Speech In China?

(Read the complete article ... )
By Kazuya Haga (545)

Summary:
According to this article, six hundred million people have cell phones in china, and that's twice as the population of the U.S. The Chinese prefer sending text message to talking on the phone for the national character. In general, Chinese are a little bit indirect, and a text message allows them to express their feeling easily. Therefore, they tent to use text message, even if they have a time to express deeply personal emotion. In addition, text messaging is beyond the reach of China 's notorious government censors. That's why some people organize a huge protest via text message, and send message critical of the administration. Yu Jie, Internet dissident, says the best literature of this time must be in text messages safe from government censors.

My Opinion:
Today, the world order is in process of change. China , one of BRICs, is expanding its influence to the world. They have developed their own economy, status in the world, and so on. However, there isn’t free speech in China because China isn’t democratic country, so Chinese are restricted a lot of things. For example, Chinese authority prohibits people from watching antiestablishment articles and pictures on the web site. They control unfavorable information for Chinese government. Now they are joining developed countries, so it is time to admit free speech for people.

I've heard the news about chinese government's interference, so a lot of chineses have a dissatisfaction about their government. I also think it's time to relax restrictions. The chinese government has to have an appeasement policies. However, as you know, there is a problem. If chinese government ease their policy, they cannot control their huge people. Thus, chinese government has to get ready a moderate policy for their people.

I like text message in cell phone in my life. It's lucky that I can have free talk after 1997. I hope it could be for long term. That is true that people in China is not allow talking the political in public. China goverment control the media eg: TV & Raido. especially in Tiananmen square . It's so sensitative & strict place in there. Nowaday, the information is spread rapid thru internet & cell phone. People can get the information from it. For me, I'm expecting my country is democracy & we can have protest against in street. I hope the new technical will bring us "real" free speech in future.

I have been to Shanghai for one week. I watched their NEWS, it was all about positive reports, for example, chinese government how to strike crime, show to people their polices' bravery. I can understand why the government did that, they tend to keep stable status, it can execute easily policies.

Actually, China is most influenceable nation among the nation of communism.
China failed to change long time ago.
In my opinion, if China change his ideology, China will fall in slump.
To hold olympic, Cleansing of air in Beijing means stability of China system, and it is impossible to another nation. Thus, we have to acknowledge and harmonize.

I prefer to call my friends rather than to send text message. The reason is that calling is faster than send text message. Anyway, I hope Chinese goverment change their mind.

I also like to use text massage rather than talking directly to my friends because if I use text massage I can reconsider what I said do my friends.
